We are sad to announce that on February 26, 2022, at the age of 93, James Polk Merritt (Petal, Mississippi) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine Brock Merritt; his siblings, John Wesley Merritt, Cora Joyce Davis and Mary Katherine Davis; his daughter Carolyn Merritt Doleac; and his grandson Barry "Craig" Doleac Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Marlene Harris and Brenda Wadsworth (Greg); his grandchildren, John M. "Mickey" Harris, Alicia Robbins (Michael), Allison Hinz (A. J.), Amber Dossett (Tyler) and Brock Doleac (Grace); his great grandchildren, Matthew Harris, Ashlynn Hinz, Holden Doleac, Maddox Hinz, Lily Dossett, Hannah Robbins and Brady Dossett; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Merritt; and his son-in-law Barry Doleac. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
