Dorothy Stovall Obituary
Dorothy B. Stovall, 81, of Petal, MS, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, MS. Rev. Nelson Crozier will officiate. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Stovall was born in Laurel, MS in 1933 and graduated from Laurel High School with academic honors.
She was a lifelong resident of Mississippi. She retired from Mississippi Power Company after 18 years as a Customer Service Representative. Her wishes were to be remembered for the love she had for her three children and for the love she had for the rest of her family, friends, and for handicapped people. Mrs. Stovall is preceded in death by her parents, Bessie Bryant Bethea and Guy Joseph Bethea Sr. and her late husbands, Charles Sidney Barnes Sr. and Alford Marion "Bud" Wilson.
Survivors include her husband, Hoyt G. Stovall Jr. Petal, MS; son, Charles Sidney Barnes Jr., Taylorsville, MS; daughters, Cheryl "Sherry" Barnes Huntsville, AL and Denise Crozier (Nelson) Mt. Olive, MS; grandchildren, Amy Lynn Smith Phoenix, AZ, Ashley Denise Brandle (Alan), Saint Augustine, FL and Jason Lee Smith (Hilary), Petal, MS; great-grandson, Bryson Lee Smith Petal, MS; brother, Guy Joseph Bethea, Jr.
Baton Rouge, LA; step-brothers, Jim Bethea, Jackson, MS and Johnny Bethea, Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces and nephews. Jason Smith, Alan Brandle, Bobby Moore Jr., Pete Legg, Trenny Walley, Johnny Wilson and Jimmy O'Neal will serve as pallbearers.
