She was predeceased by: her former husband David Phillips, Sr.; her parents, Billy Lee and Joy Lee; and her sister Debbie Lee. She is survived by: her husband Billy Wayne Newell of Petal; her sons, David Phillips, Jr. (Dana) of Shreveport, LA, Col. Eric Phillips (Kristy) of Anchorage, AK and Chris Phillips (Courtney) of Petal; her stepdaughter Beth Ryley (Richard) of Sand Hill; and her siblings, Penny Moore (Jim) of Wiggins and David Lee (Demaris) of Petal. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
