Irby (Donovan) of Morton, MS, Cindy Drew of Flowood, MS and Dennise Buie-Whitehead of Jackson, MS; his siblings, Richard Oates and Naomi Burrous of Topeka, KS; and his grandchildren, Matthew Massey (Hayley), Reagan Irby, Mallory Irby, JP Irby, Bella Irby, Sarah Drew, Ryan Drew, Skylar Niclole and Austin Brunt. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.

“We are so sorry for your lose. Dennis was my Brother-in-law and Johnny Jackson's brother. Dennis also had a sister named Mary Francis Plumberg. No one told us that he had passed. I'm surprised that Richard didn't call us and let us know. We loved Dennis very much and thought of him a lot. Johnny and I were just talking about Dennis, wondering if he was okay. We knew that he had heart problems years ago. His family here in Topeka will always keep him close in our hearts. Will miss him very much”
