He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Holmes and Alice Holmes; his wife Barbara Graham Holmes; and his daughter Mary Kaye McPhail. He is survived by: his children, John Holmes (Cheryl Mize) and Cathy Holmes (Jan Powers); his son-in-law Don McPhail; his grandchildren, Catherine Dockery (Ben), Troy McPhail, John McPhail and Brian Holmes; his great grandchildren, William Holmes Dockery, Sidney Dockery, Sam Dockery and Blake McPhail; and his siblings, Mary Campbell, Lece Meyer, Cynthia Holmes and Pat Holmes.
