He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter E. Evans and Goldie Stringfellow Evans; and his brothers, Edward, Lee and Lewis Evans.

He is survived by: his sons, Scotty Evans (Jan) and Michael Evans; and his siblings, Fay Fisher (Jimmy) and Frankie Evans (Rose). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
