He was predeceased by: his parents, Jefferson Whatley, Sr. and Lela Cooley Whatley; his siblings, Jim Whatley, Jack Whatley, Jefferson Whatley, Jr., Nettie Jean Irwin and Jean Durrett; his wife Diane Cavanna Whatley; and his granddaughter Kylea Noelle Routh.
He is survived by: his children, Rebecca L "Beki", James Routh, Terrie A, Chris Chapman, John Christopher "Chris" and Michelle Whatley; his brother Billy Whatley; his grandchildren, Jeremy Kyle Chapman, Christopher Joe "Joey" Whatley, Joshua Daniel "Josh" Whatley, Noah Landon Routh and Trista Shae Carlton; and his great grandchildren, Logan R Chapman and Vivian J Goldman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
