She was predeceased by: her son Ronny Thornton; her parents, Preston Garrett and Catherine Watkins Garrett; her grandson Brian Thornton; and her siblings, Billy Ray Garrett, Preston Garrett, Jr., Jean Penland, Mickey Criswell and Charlotte Adams.
She is survived by: her sons, Kendall E Thornton, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Florence and Joe A Thornton (Cindy) of Brandon; her grandchildren, Brent Thornton (Trish) of Louisville, KY, Chris Thornton of Jackson, Joshua Thornton (Julie) of Florence and Cody Thornton of Pearl; and her sisters, Sandra Ourso of Marrero, LA and Marie Allen (Gary). She is also survived by nieces and nephews and other family members.
