He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Lechler and Bertha Lechler; his siblings, Weltha Kline (Clarence) of Williamsport, John R. Lechler (Edna) of Williamsport, William Lechler (Gloria) of Williamsport, Walter Lechler (Jean) of Williamsport, Harold Lechler of Williamsport, Helen Lechler of Williamsport, Dorothy Burley (Samuel) of Williamsport and Nancy Turner (Don) of Williamsport; and his friend Mary Stiger of Diamondhead, Mississippi..

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann "Pudge" Coleman Lechler; his son Terry Evans Lechler (Candace); his sister-in-law Virginia Downey Hunter; and his close friends, Bill Stiger, John Cannon (Alisa), Regina and Sarah Monica. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
