He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew McCarra and Mattie Hayes McCarra; his wife Phyllis McCarra; his son Jon McCarra; and his siblings, Russell McCarra, Rufus McCarra, James McCarra, Nevle McCarra, Joyce Dew, Lola Covington and Opal Adams.
He is survived by: his sons, Joel McCarra (Dinah) and Jeff McCarra; his daughter-in-law Amanda McCarra; his grandchildren, Colt McCarra (Whitney), Courtney Smith (Drew), Josh McCarra, Ramsay Strickland, Corey McCarra (Amanda) and Jonah McCarra; his great grandchildren, Tinley McCarra, Addie Kay, Callen McCarra, Maddox and Vaughan Strickland; and his siblings, Paul McCarra, Dewight McCarra and Evelyn "Sis" Duvall. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
