He was predeceased by: his former wife Delma Gregory Harper; his wife Doris Jean Harper; his parents, Ruby Elliott Harper and Virgil Harper; his siblings, Pat Cochran (Clinton), Brenda Croker (Jack) and Danny Harper; and his sister-in-law Ruby Harper.

He is survived by: his children, Robert Harper (Carrie), Ruby Steede (Prent), Delbert Harper (Felicia) and Devin Harper; his siblings, Kay Kraft (Raymond), Butch Harper (Hazel), Diane Gregory and Shelia Josephs (Bryan); his grandchildren, Morgan Lee (Rickie), Drake, Rhett, Joshua, Makayla, Keragan, Elijah Logan, Dalton, Matthew and Addyson; his great grandchild Hudson James Lee; and also Johnese Cochran. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
