He is survived by: his parents, Laverne Smith Sr. and Grace Smith of Joliet, IL; his children, Laverne Smith III (Kristen Bus), Daniel Smith (Michelle) of Bourbonnais, IL and Sara Carranza (Luis) of Joliet, IL; his grandchildren, Laverne IV, Maria, Aubry, Marcelo Smith, Luis Jr., Layali and Laila Carranza; and his siblings, Oscar Smith (Valeria) of Covington, Eugene Sr. Smith (Valencia) of Biloxi, MS, Vincent Sr. Smith (Vickey) of Joliet, IL, Cheryl Riley (Leonard) of Joliet, IL and Nancy Smith of Joliet, IL. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
