Janet Estelle DeForrest Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janet Estelle DeForrest of Pascagoula, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 3, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alley Walker and Stella Walker; her husband Jack L. DeForrest; her son Steven DeForrest; her brother Alfred Hap'Walker; and her daughter-in-law Kim DeForrest.
She is survived by: her children, Linda E. Marshall (Greg) of Hurley, Jackie E. Skelton (Kevin) of Pascagoula, Jerry J. DeForrest of Brandon, Helen Fortenberry of Ocean Springs, Patty M. Dale of Pascagoula and David H. DeForrest (Gloria) of San Diego, CA; and her daughter-in-law Ronda DeForrest of Pascagoula. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church (503 Convent Ave, Pascagoula, MS 39567). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Jackson County Memorial Park Cemetery.
