He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlie Barton Israel and Ruby Lucille Israel; his daughter Tammy Lynn Israel; his grandson James Branden Lee Israel; and his siblings, C. B. Israel Jr., Betty Jo Fountain, Margaret Pittman and Valentine Michelli.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothea Israel; his children, Tanja Israel, Diana Church (Alan), Winter Ward (Tim) and James Larry Israel Jr. (Ginny); his siblings, Varnell Israel, Bobby Jo Israel, Earline Parker, Harriet Lee and Edna Mae Somerhalder; his grandchildren, Cari Christensen (Travis), Justin McKinney (Courtney), Chawn Israel (Diana), Brittany McKinney (Justin), Alexia Holt (Alex), Anna Johnson (Isaiah) and Sebastien Ward; and his great grandchildren, Brentley James Israel, Raelynn Marie Israel, Aria Samantha Winfred, Thea Lee Christensen and Alakai Isaiah Johnson.
