He was predeceased by: his parents, Dua Toups and Edith Toups; and his sisters, Amaze Comeaux, Bea Foreman, Ruth Hudson and Mary Brown Byrd.
He is survived by: his wife Cecile Marie Toups; his children, Elroy Toups Jr. (Nancy), Kathy Toups Gurley (James) and Linda Toups Nulta (Maurice); and his grandchildren, Christopher Toups, Amanda Toups Craig (Josh), Dennis Gurley (Diana), Jamie Gurley Whitfield (Eric) and Brittany Nulta Castille (Corey).
