It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bettye Wells (Pascagoula, Mississippi), born in Lucedale, Mississippi, who passed away on July 18, 2018, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Jr. and Johnnie Thornton Jr.; and her sister Barbara Ann Thornton. She is survived by: her siblings, Brenda Kay Glass of Pascagoula, Mary Ellen Thornton of Lucedale and Glenn Roy "Bill" Thornton of Pascagoula. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and other relatives.
