She was predeceased by: her husband Walter Ray Merritt Sr.; her daughter Shirley Ann Merritt; her parents, Alice Adele Ladnier and Robert Ladnier; and her siblings, Robert Edwin Ladnier and Edna Jean Ladnier Olier.
She is survived by: her son Alan (Denise) of Wesson, MS; her sister Bettie Bounds of Marshall, Ill; her nephew Wesley Merritt; and her close friends, Steve and Toni Kraft of Pascagoula, MS..
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home (4811 Telephone Rd, Pascagoula, MS 39567). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 11:00 PM.
