He was predeceased by: his parents, Zula Mae Zinn Carter and C. O. Carter; his grandmother Thelma Hubbard; his siblings, Clemmie D. Carter and Thelma Carter; his nephew Terry Lee Bass, Sr.; and his granddaughter Adrielle Nevaeh Wright.
He is survived by: his children, Ebonee Carter of Washington, DC and Darrie Jermaine Townsend (Miracle) of Oxford, MS; his siblings, Shirley Ivy Ivy (late Arthur D.) of Oxford, MS, Margaret Ann Carter of Joliet, IL, Sharon Carter Mathis of Arlington, TX, Karen Price of Arlington, TX, Katina Ali of Olive Branch, MS, Michelle Cantrell (Willie) of Southaven, MS, Stayce Abidi (Syed) of Houston, TX, Junior Lee Carter of Oxford, MS, Paul Bean (Sandra) of Houston, MS and Jockey Justice of Houston, MS; and his former wife Amey Carter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the L. Hodges Funeral Service (721 Damascus Rd, Oxford, MS 38655). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Philadelphia M. B. Church (36 Co Rd 2006, Oxford, MS 38655). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 5:00 PM at 365 MS-6, Oxford, MS 38655. A burial will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at the Oxford Memorial Cemetery North 16th (420 N 16th St, Oxford, MS 38655).
