She is survived by: her children, Maria Thompson (Kerry Delbridge) of Oxford, MS and Michael Thompson II (Tessa) of Jackson, MS; her grandchildren, Deon'tra Williams of Oxford, MS, Kiyana Thompson of Oxford, MS, Michael Thompson III of Jackson, MS and Malia Thompson of Jackson, MS; her siblings, Harvey Mathis (Everlean) of Oxford, MS, Elizabeth Gipson of Oxford, MS, Joyce Mathis of Oxford, MS, Phyllis Fox (Quentin) of Oxford, MS, Esther Grace Mathis of Oxford, MS, Charles Mathis of Chicago, IL and Vanessa Jackson (Anthony) of New York; her sister-in-law Joyce Mathis of North Carolina; and her close friends, Deborah Johnson, Joe Brown, Otis Gipson, Melvin Buford, Horace Wadlington and Marilyn Hairston Williams. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
