He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Doyle Thornton and Erma Dean McElroy Thornton; his wife Mary Jane Thornton; his siblings, Doylette Veazey, Diane Hambrick (Billy), Tommy (Denise), Rickey (Stacey) and Tim (Sandra); and his sisters-in-law, JoAnn Stefani (late Andrew) and Christine Reiner (late Michael Phillips) of Oxford. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
