He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera B. Johnson and Louis D. Johnson; and his siblings, Flora Johnson Slate, Marshall Johnson, Dwight Johnson and Royale Johnson.
He is survived by: his aunt Margie Nell Mathis (Spencer); his nieces and nephews, Timmy Frieson, Isaac Slate, Jr., Phyllis Johnson Payne (Jimmy), Rodanthi Slate Lewis (Darnell), Robbie Slate Hart (Roderick) and Melissa Johnson; and his sister-in-law Cassandra Johnson. He is also survived by cousins, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the L. Hodges Funeral Service (721 Damascus Rd, Oxford, MS 38655). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Tallahatchie-Oxford Missionary Baptist Association Building (20 MS-334, Oxford, MS 38655). A burial was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 at the Buford Cemetery.
