He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Jacobson and Martha Goldberg Jacobson; his parents-in-law, Robert Partin Reeves and Lillian Elizabeth Reeves; his sister Helene Jacobson Liebman; his brother-in-law Robert Keith Reeves; and his great-niece Isabel Christine Gillespie.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Reeves Jacobson of Oxford; his daughters, Barbara Jacobson and Laura Jacobson (Jason Keller) of Oxford; his sister Esther Jacobson Chernoff (Norman) of High Point, NC; and his siblings-in-law, Glenn Reeves (Sarah) of Jacksonville, FL, Lynn Reeves-Schaffer (Russell) of Moyock, NC and Elizabeth Reeves Ball (Stephen) of Norfolk, VA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
After retirement, Michael enjoyed volunteering with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Oxford, where he continued to contribute his time and energy to meaningful causes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (http://www.themmrf.org.), a cause supporting efforts to raise awareness and develop new treatments for this disease.
