It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Louis Joseph Lucas in Oxford, Mississippi, born in Clinton, Iowa, who passed away on July 29, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Flora Pecker Lucas and John Lucas; his wife Diana Shade Lucas; his siblings, John Lucas and Mary Lucas Hass; and his great grandchild Jaxon Thornton.

He is survived by: his children, John Louis Lucas (Anna), Thomas William Lucas (Kim) and Michelle Lucas Thornton (Doug); and his grandchildren, Robert Joseph Lucas (Sarah Beth), Paul Culpepper Lucas, Jade Lucas Bennett (Jim), Thomas Witt Lucas (Linda), Nathaniel Douglas Thornton (Kaylee), Nicole Michelle Thornton and Nicolas Lucas Thornton. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectively requests memorials be made to St. James Catholic Church, 3189 North Harper Road, Corinth, MS 38834 or the charity of the donor's choice.
