He is survived by: his sons, Michael Tatum (Cindy) of Oxford, Tim Tatum of Potts Camp, MS and John Tatum (Julie) of Hernando, MS; his stepdaughter Melissa Whitehead (Steve) of Independence, MS; and his brother Milton Tatum of Oxford. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
