She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Bell Gooch Ellis and John Brooks; and her brothers, John Brooks and Harry Brooks. She is survived by: her son Edward O'Neil Rockette (Laquestria) of Oxford, MS; her stepdaughter Carlotta Moore (Darrius) of Oxford, MS; and her brother Carl Brooks (Clara) of Oxford, MS.. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
