He was predeceased by: his parents, William Elvis and Ruth Nunn Smith; his wife Clara Faust; his siblings, Melinda Kay Blackburn, William Smith, Clinton Smith, Johnny Smith, Joe Smith and James Smith; and his granddaughter Josie Leighann Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Tracy Smith Miller (Mitch) of Coldwater, MS, Melissa S. Johnson (Mark) of Memphis, TN, Richard M. Smith (Paula) of Oxford, MS, Jeffrey A. Smith (Angie) of Oxford, MS and William T. "Bill" Smith (Rose) of Oxford, MS; and his siblings, Peggy Cobb of Oxford, MS, Delorse Calfee of Oxford, MS, Rita Parott of Oxford, MS, Betty Kesler of Abbeville, MS, David Smith of Water Valley, MS and Glenn Smith of Oxford, MS. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
