He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Marshall Smith, Sr. and Menda Lee Powell Smith; his former wife Evelyn Beech Smith; his brother D. M. Smith Jr.; and his half-sister Willie Kate Powell McDonald.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Lauren Smith Bahm; his wife Bobbie Smith of Ovett; his children, Rita Lee (Bob) of Petal, Goodwin Smith (Cindy) of Petal, Susan Wilcox (David) of Headland, AL, Mike and Brenda Shook of Petal; his grandchildren, Megan Hunter (Seth), Andrew Lee (Chandler), Derrek Daughdril (Megan), Nick Shook (Julie), Morgan Brazzel (Brandon), Nathan Wilcox (Kim) and Phillip Wilcox; and his great grandchildren, Stella, Samuel, Jacoby, Maddux, Myles, Addie, Sophie, Marley, Rhett, Abby, Stark and Little Robert.
