He was predeceased by: his son Steven J. Pitts; his parents, Theodore Pitts and Sarah Ann Landrum Pitts; his siblings, Charles L. Pitts and Nadell Pitts; and his son-in-law Harlon Gray Welsh.
He is survived by: his wife Una Faye Keller Pitts; his daughters, Wanda Welsh and Deborah Jean McKenna (Dan); his sister Vera Sue Irby; and his grandchildren, Quincy Welsh, Adam Pitts (Carmen), Stephanie Anderson and Jessica Street (Stacey).
