He is survived by: his wife Diane Cutrer; his son Tom Simmons (Veronica); his granddaughter Chaning Strange (Trenton); his great grandchild Tucker Strange; his grandson Tommy "Mason" Simmons III; his daughter Ginger Simmons (J. Wendell Simmons Sr.); his grandson Jeff W. Simmons Jr. (Meagan); his great grandchild Caroline Simmons; his granddaughter Chelsea Simmons; and his siblings-in-law, Byron Cutrer (Vickie) and Melinda Simmons.
