He is survived by: his wife Patsy Hughey Christenberry; his daughters, Laura Beth McCarty of Hattiesburg, MS and Lisa; his son-in-law Edd Hardy of Trussville, AL; his daughter Jennifer; his son-in-law Elton Griggs of Mason, TN; his grandchildren, Jonah McCarty of Hattiesburg, MS, Kaitlyn Hardy, Wes Hardy of Trussville, AL, Trey, Kacey Griggs of Brighton, TN, Beau and Sarah Griggs of Mason, TN; and his great grandchildren, Emmett Griggs of Brighton, TN and Ellie Griggs of Mason, TN..

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Memorial Park Funeral Home (5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Samaritan's Purse, St. Jude, or American Cancer Society.
