He was predeceased by: his father Monroe Cruse; and his brothers, Daniel and Ned. He is survived by: his caregiver Cynthia Cruse of Okolona; his sisters, Lorena Reynolds (Bobby) of Okolona and Nola Jean; his son Jim; his brother Jimmy Ray Cruse (Brenda) of Nettleton; and his half-brother Michael Cruse (Tina) of Houston. He is also survived by several half brothers and sisters; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
