He was predeceased by: his parents, Minnie Mae Carter and Henry Stovall of Houston, MS.; his children, Michael McGory, Bobby Ray McGory, Josephine Dawson and Jennifer Finnie; his brothers, Charles Carter Sr. and Roger Carter; and his grandson Damian Finnie.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy McGory; his children, Servantes McGory and Barbara Lynn Chandler; his siblings, Donnie Carter, N. B. Carter and Maxine Richardson; and his grandchildren, Christy McGory, Jonathan Ray McGory, Barry Townsend, LaNishia Finnie, Nina Dawson, Seirra Dawson, Magen Durham, Devaughntae Spann, Allen Spann, Bianca Finnie and Ariel Dunlap.
