He is survived by: his wife Karen Thurmon; his children, Richard W. Thurmon, Shannon Sabino, Christian Sabino, Darius Gines, Ashley Thurmon, April Sabino, Kiara Jenkins and Nicole Galloway; his grandchildren, Devin Jones, Jaren Sabino, Kameryn Sabino, Shailyn Sabino, Londen Jenkins, Autumn Taylor, Isaiah Hicks and Kingston Hicks; his great grandchildren, Caleb Jones, Ayden King Ruiz and Elijah Flores; his siblings, Patricia McCormick, Sharon Payton, Alderine Payton, Herman Payton, Jr. (Dorothy), Michael Dean Payton, Esther Faye Payton, Zachary Payton, Shawn Payton (Valinda) and Alicia Benson (Bertram); his aunt Helen Brown; and his uncle Samuel Thurmon. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, alumni, colleagues, friends.
