He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Brady Mitchell, Sr. and Anna Josephine Shultz; his daughter Lisa Marie Mitchell; his son-in-law Bart Howard Brewer; his grandparents, Joseph, Bernadette Shultz, Oscar and Mary Mitchell; and his brother Robert Marion Mitchell.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Beatrice Mitchell (Salters); his children, Michael Brady Mitchell III (Teri), Virginia Anna Brewer (Lionel Cothern), Marian Marie Dossett (Chris), James Oscar Mitchell (Shannon) and Joseph Edward Mitchell (Emree Steptoe); and his siblings, William Joseph Mitchell (Joan), Francis David Mitchell (Vicky), Patrick Shultz Mitchell (Patricia), Mary Anna Zito, Elizabeth Bernadette Ludwig (John), Margaret Jean Migues and Martha Jane Thompson. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
