With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Waites of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, born in Bay Springs, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 14, 2025 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Gale Waites and Leila May Evans. He is survived by: his son Casey Joe Waites; his wife Ruth Miley Waites; his son Rusty; his daughter-in-law Angie Waites; and his granddaughters, Alexia and Halle Waites. He is also survived by in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home - Ocean Springs (911 Porter Ave, Ocean Springs, MS 39564). A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Lake Como Cemetery.
He was named Assistant Coach of the Year by the Gulf Coast Chapter National Football Foundation Hall of Fame in 2003.
