He was predeceased by: his parent Esther Lee Thurmon; his grandparents, Lucy E. Payton, Herman E. Payton, Sr. and Sylvester "Precious" Williams; his brother Sammie Lee Thurmon; and his niece Latasha Payton.
He is survived by: his daughter Alaysia J. Thurmon; his siblings, Richard Thurmon (Karen), Herman Payton, Jr. (Dorothy), Michael Dean Payton, Zachary Payton, Shawn Payton (Valinda), Patricia McCormick, Alderine Payton, Sharon Payton, Esther Faye Payton and Alicia Benson (Bertram); his uncles, Samuel Thurmon, Leo Galloway and Edward Williams; and his stepgrandmother Ernestine Williams. He is also survived by many cousins, friends.
