He is survived by: his wife Pam Haney; his children, Cary Sykes Haney and Vicki Highfield; his grandchildren, Chandler Sykes Haney, Abigail Haney and Shelby Highfield; his niece Joy McDaniel (Keith); his daughter-in-law Tiffany Haney; and his pet Merv.
He was awarded the Eagle Scout, and the city of D'Iberville named a section of central avenue "Haney Way" in recognition of his contributions to the community.
