We bid farewell to Barney Banks of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, born in Smackover, Arkansas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 6, 2024 at the age of 80. Barney touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Arthur and Ruth Ellen Dean Banks; and his siblings, Don, Bill, Jerry, Jimmy Banks, Delores Joyce, Shirley Harwell, Verna Clary and Sharon Tilmon.

He is survived by: his wife Gail Banks; his children, Kathleen Scarborough (Shea), Kristin Freeman (Corey), Jennifer Reed, Scott Banks (Candace) and Stephen Banks (Amber); his grandchildren, Jordan Reed, Hayden Scarbrough, Kace Reed, Reagan Scarbrough, Preston Freeman, Brady Freeman, Pierce Freeman, Campbell Freeman, Austen Banks, Emilie Banks, Savannah Banks, Miles Banks and Gabriel Banks; his great grandchild Blaine Fritz Scarborough; his sisters, Kay Finch and Kathy New; his stepgrandsons, Gus Joachim, Oliver Joachim, Evan Joachim and Elijah Herrington; and his pet Bailey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
