He is survived by: his children, Kathy Simmons (Phil), Annette Myers, Anita Weatherford, Eddie Carpenter (Frieda), Doyle Carpenter and Gary Carpenter (Nina Davis); his nephew David Dolea; and his siblings, Mary Loyce Hall and Coy Carpenter. He is also survived by grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
