He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smith and Effie Smith (Glass); and his siblings, Billy, Jimmy, John "Red" Smith and Peggy Kirk of Byrum, MS..
He is survived by: his children, Michael Shelton "Shelley" Smith (Debbie) of Fort Worth, TX and Angie Tidwell (Shelby) of Mayhew, MS; his siblings, William "Sonny" Smith of Bay Minette, AL and Juanita Allday of Terry, MS; and his former wife Lynda Peeples Smith of Starkville, MS.. He is also survived by six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
