She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice R. Black and Thelma Elizabeth Black; her husband Kenneth Eugene Mattson; her brother Maurice "Bo" R. Black, Jr.; and her siblings-in-law, Becky and Meridith "Bubba" Tatum, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Christie M. Clark (Steve) of Pelahatchie, MS and Travis W. Mattson (Xiomara) of Palm Coast, Florida.; her grandchildren, Ken Brewer (Sara), Christine Johnson (Michael), Jonathan Brewer, Kyle Mattson, Hunter Mattson (Lacey), Billy Ray Holly, Shane Clark (Sage), Andreas Ruiz and Sara Lopez; her sisters, Thelma Karatassos (Straton), Juliana Tatum, Jennie Grogan (Fred) and Nancye Montgomery (Andy); and her friend Charles "Chuck" Haggerty.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wilson and Knight Funeral Home (910 US-82, Greenwood, MS 38930). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Natchez National Cemetery (41 Cemetery Rd, Natchez, MS 39120).
