He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Strachan and Lois McCluskey Strachan; and his brother James Strachan. He is survived by: his friend Charles Holman; his wife Vallie Woods Strachan of North Carrollton, MS; his son Ken Strachan (Shelia) of North Carrollton, MS; his granddaughter Kate Strachan Diamond of North Carrollton, MS; his stepgrandson Randy Myers of Coila, MS; and his sister Faye Strachan Walker (Billy) of Greenwood, IN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
