With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Holt McMullan of Newton, Mississippi, who passed away on April 16, 2024 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonnie Holt and Mattie Holt; her husband Elliott McMullan; her siblings, Ethelene Rich (Winfield), Mildred Miles (Edmond), Dr. Dan Holt (Henrietta), Robert Holt (Jane) and Dr. Huey Holt (Anita); and her sister-in-law Joy Holt (David).
She is survived by: her daughter Janis (Bill) of Louisville, MS; her grandchildren, Arlean Sackler (Sam) of Hattiesburg, MS, Will McMullan (Katie) of Greenwich, CT and Will Tabor (Michelle) of Ridgeland, MS; her great grandchildren, Preston, Hammond Sackler, Wills, Henry, James McMullan, Patrick and Luke Tabor; her brother Dr. David Holt of Cary, NC; and her caregivers, Jean Snow, Mary Snow and Karen Avery. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 307 E. Church St., Newton, MS 39345 or to the J. E. McMullan Library, 300 W. Church St., Newton.
