He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Bob" and Delores McGowen; his wife Bertha Mae McGowen; and his siblings, Jeanine Garner and Wayne "Zook" McGowen.
He is survived by: his children, Kneale McGowen, Jr. (Lynn) of New Augusta, James McGowen of New Augusta, Pam Brewer (Rocky) of New Augusta, Jan Walters (Van) of Runnelstown, Annette McGowen of New Augusta and Steven McGowen of New Augusta; and his siblings, Bobby John McGowen (Joyce) of Brookhaven, Bryant McGowen (Marilyn) of Louisiana, Paul McGowen (Judy) of Ocean Springs, Laura Beasley (Willis) of Georgia, Linda Ball of Richton and Marty Best (Joe) of Georgia. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
