She was predeceased by: her parents, Buck Watts and Thea Parks Watts; and her brother James Lester Watts. She is survived by: her husband Van Swearingen; her sons, Robby Swearingen (Kelly) and Bailey Swearingen (Michelle); her grandchildren, Buck, Wyatt and Shay Swearingen; and her nieces, Tonya Powell (Joe), Andrea McGowen (Mike) and Nicole Brouillette (Kurt).
