He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Barrett Sheffield and Lexie Wilson Sheffield, Sr.; his sister Wilma Bass; and his brothers-in-law, Raymond Thompson, Harry Anthony and Richard Bass.
He is survived by: his close friend Devona Self of New Albany; his siblings, Billy Sheffield (Sally) of Merritt Island, FL, Bobby Sheffield (Gladys) of Fulton, Frank Sheffield (Debbie) of Mantachie, Barbara Ann Thompson of Mantachie, Johnnie Davis (Leroy) of Saltillo and Sue Anthony of Ecru; and also Christy Bucannon of New Albany. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
