He was predeceased by: his parents, James Troy Mayo and Mary Lee McCreight Mayo; his grandson Barry Mayo; and his brothers, Grady Mayo, Vance Mayo and Raymon Mayo.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Messer Mayo; his children, Tina Spain (Aaron) of Booneville, Jason Sanders of New Albany and John Alton Mayo (Rebecca) of New Albany; his grandchildren, Amber Mayo King, Britt Mason, Andy Mayo, Karla Sanders and Alex Sanders; and his great grandchildren, Skylar Hill, Emma Leigh Hill, Allie Brook Pipkin, Kash King, Chloe Kiddy, Brooklyn Kiddy, Kyson Zaha, Emmett Sanders, Bela Faith Sanders and Cash Holipski.
