He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Jane Hall Smith; his children, Lori Jane Smith Arnold (Timothy) of Savannah, TN, Andrea Kristy Smith Steele (James) of Ripley, MS, Sheena Tara Smith Howard (Grant) of Tupelo, MS and James Allen Smith, Jr. (Terri Lynn) of New Albany; his sisters, Carolyn Jane Cooksey of New Albany, Tressa Ann Hester (Rickey) of New Albany and Patsy Diane Smith of New Albany; and his grandchildren, Eddie Smith (Dani), Brody Pickens, Samuel Steele, Caelan August Arnold, Isaac Steele, Jude Howard and Judah Phillips Howard.
