He was predeceased by: his parents, Twyford Owen Brown and Corrie Etta Brown; and his siblings, Hazel Childers Hall, Mary Ellen Johnston and Herbert Owen Brown.

He is survived by: his wife Mildred Faye Brown; his children, Brenda Lou Tillman (David), Robin Dale Sojourner (Dale), Danny Houston Brown and Timothy Alan Brown (Leigh); and his siblings, Cherry Dale Ferrara, Patricia Ann Brown Holden, Fred Lamar Brown and Billy Don Brown. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren, and two step great-great grandchildren.
