She was predeceased by: her parents, Carol Whittington and Violet McDaniel Whittington; her husband Jimmy Burleson; her son Dorian Burleson; and her brother Gordon Whittington.

She is survived by: her daughter Allie Ashmore (Nathan Ashmore); her grandson Brody Ashmore; and her siblings, Mark Whittington and Linda Sue Clark. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.
